Computer Camp – Grades 4-6


Day 1:

·         Introduction to the class.

·         File management with your new flash drive:  name your flash drive; make folders, how to save your work.

·         Introduction to Paint.  Create an image for an iron-on t-shirt transfer.

Day 2:

·         Finish Paint project for iron-on.

·         Animated gif-demo from previous years and talk about ideas for each student.

·         Students work on animated gifs in Paint making at least 8 images for motion.

Day 3:

·         Finish Animated Gifs.

·         Demo movies (made in Windows Live Movie Maker) from previous semester and selected ones from Internet.

·         Talk about what movie the students can make.

·         Search, then save images from Internet (an Internet search using Google Images) for upcoming movie project.

Day 4:

·         Introduction to Windows Live Movie Maker demonstrating all the features.

·         Students create movie using images, videos, transitions, special effects, opening and closing slides, etc.

Day 5:

·         Use Sound Recorder to add your own voice to your video (limit of 30 seconds per file).

·         Finish movie.

·         Learn to do math using Excel: add, subtract, multiple, divide and auto sum.

·         Create a PowerPoint presentation of all your work including your iron-on, animated gif, video and anything else you would like to add.
